Boyztoys Opportunities

Strategy to 2030

The goal: profit engines that don’t depend on a 20–25% dealer margin or on Dagupan alone. Test each one small, scale only what pays back inside 12 months.

Do this month

  1. Get BOC importer accreditation started and 3 supplier quotes for solar kits. This is the fastest new gross profit you can add.
  2. Claim and fill Google Business Profiles for all 7 branches (free). People search "hardware near me" before they drive.
  3. Launch Boyztoys Pro: register contractors, electricians and welders by phone number in the POS, with a 2% monthly rebate.

Roadmap

Q4 2026

Open two new profit engines

  • First solar + battery LCL shipment; demo kits in Dagupan and Malasiqui
  • Churros cart #1 on the Dagupan branch frontage, 60-day test
  • Google profiles, Boyztoys Pro program, one Facebook page with Marketplace per branch

2027

Expand on what the data proves

  • Open Tayug, Rosario, Agoo, Bolinao with the launch playbook below
  • In-house solar and pump install team (2 crews)
  • 3–5 churros units + a small commissary; house-brand consumables on the top 30 SKUs
  • Hire a bookkeeper/finance lead: no finance team is the biggest risk to scaling

2028

Turn the churros brand into a franchise

  • Franchise package after 12 months of unit data (PFA membership, ops manual, supply of mix and dips)
  • E-bike battery and parts counters in 3 branches
  • Sell imported churro machines and cart kits to other food-cart owners

2029–2030

Become a distributor, not just a retailer

  • Wholesale imported solar, pumps and consumables to other hardware stores in Region I
  • Target: 15 branches, 20+ churros units (half franchised), imports at 25–30% of group gross profit
  • Dagupan below 30% of sales, so no single branch can sink the year

Boyztoys hardware: marketing plan

Position: the contractor’s hardware partner in Pangasinan, and now the brownout-proof store.

  • Google Business Profile per branch: photos, hours, top products, reply to every review. Free, and it wins "near me" searches.
  • Facebook: one brand page plus Marketplace listings by branch. Boost ₱300–500/day only for launches, in a 15 km radius.
  • Short videos (Reels/TikTok): a 30-second "Tool test" by staff each week. Ask INGCO and WADFOW distributors for co-op ad money and demo units.
  • Boyztoys Pro: contractors, electricians, plumbers and welders earn a 2% rebate tracked by phone number. Ask them for solar referrals.
  • Viber community per town for promos and stock alerts (your branches already use Viber).
  • B2B: one field salesperson for LGUs (PhilGEPS), schools, cooperatives and fishpond operators.
  • Saturday "Tool Day" at Dagupan: demos, a raffle, and the churros cart outside.

Branch moves

  • Dagupan (36–41% of sales): protect it, but put new lines elsewhere first to spread the risk.
  • Malasiqui (fastest-growing): first branch for solar pumps and farm power; give it more stock and more ad budget.
  • Lingayen (plateaued): run a 20-customer survey on what they buy elsewhere. As the capitol town, push LGU and office accounts.
  • New 2027 branches: Google profile and Facebook geo-ads 30 days before opening, a contractor sign-up drive, and an opening-week bundle.

Churros brand: marketing plan

Position: Spanish churros with Pinoy tsokolate, ₱79–99. Affordable, freshly fried in front of you. Name ideas: “Kalye Churros”, “Churro Tsokolate”, “Churros de Dagupan” (check IPOPHL before printing).

  • Signature: tablea chocolate dip plus a rotating local dip (ube, mango, cheese). Show the frying on camera: it is the ad.
  • Price ladder: ₱49 solo (3 sticks), ₱89 regular (5 + dip), ₱199 barkada box (12 + 2 dips).
  • Launch week: free stick with any Boyztoys receipt, so hardware customers try it and food customers see the store.
  • Micro-influencers: Pangasinan food pages, paid in product and a referral code.
  • Events: churros bar for birthdays, school fairs and the Bangus Festival; this is the highest-margin channel.

Churros collabs to pitch

  • Local coffee shops: supply par-fried frozen sticks as their pastry; they fry and sell, you earn wholesale.
  • Milk tea shops: a churros + drink bundle at their counter or yours.
  • Schools: PHINMA-UPang, Lyceum-Northwestern and PSU org fairs and intramurals.
  • Local cacao/tablea makers: co-branded dip that tells a local story.
  • GrabFood/foodpanda once a commissary exists, so delivery doesn't hurt fry quality.

Surplus cash and US stocks: the basics

This is general education, not advice on which stocks to buy or when. Talk to a licensed adviser before investing.

  • Order of money: 6 months of operating costs in cash first, then ideas here that pay back within 12 months. A 100%+ year-1 ROI in your own business usually beats the market's long-run average.
  • Filipinos can buy US shares through SEC-registered PH brokers or international brokers that accept PH residents. Compare fees, FX spread and how withdrawals reach a PH bank.
  • As a non-US person you sign a W-8BEN form; US dividends are taxed at source. Ask a CPA how they're treated in your PH tax filing.
  • Diversified index funds are the common starting point for people who don't want to pick stocks. Buying a fixed amount every month (peso-cost averaging) avoids having to time the market.
  • Avoid using business working capital or credit to invest, and don't invest in anything you can't explain in one sentence.

Rules for spending money

  • Every new line starts with a test you can afford to lose (one LCL share, one cart).
  • Scale only after 60 days of real numbers; stop if payback is longer than 12 months.
  • Set a PO approval limit and land every import quote in the calculator before paying a deposit.
  • Clean the SKU master before adding imports, so new items don't duplicate across the two POS systems.
